YAY! THE NORDSTROM SALE IS HERE!!!

This is a sale that I have looked forward to since high school. It was a tradition for my mom to shop for back to school clothes and we always had so much fun!!

I use this sale as a great time to stock up on fall basics that I will wear constantly. That means cozy sweaters and tons of booties!!

I love love love white jeans paired with layers for fall! This sweater is my absolute FAVE because it is so oversized and cozy. I wear it with these sweatpants on the weekends because um...that is what weekends are for!!

I am so excited to spend the weekend with our best college friends at the Wisconsin vs Iowa game...I aboslutely plan on bringing this sweater because its going to be SO SO cold!!

Cozy Cowl Neck

Ahhh...These pictures make me so happy for a couple of reasons. This sweater is so incredibly comfy and cozy that I could live in it...and also because of the color of those trees in the background. Fall is definitely a favorite time of the year for me. I love the crisp air, the apple cider and the beautiful trees. I spent a long weekend in DC and we took a little day trip to Annapolis Maryland on Saturday. The drive was absolutely breathtaking. Every fall color you could imagine was found on the trees.  It is always hard to leave Dave at the end of our weekends together...but some days it's harder than others. We were cooking dinner together sunday night and watching The Proposal on TV. It was just such a simple and normal night, we were so comfortable and so happy...then it was 7:30 and I had to leave to get on a plane back to Wisconsin. We both cannot wait for all aspects of life together...but especially those nights where you just want to make dinner and  a movie and not have to fly across the county.

Someday...and until then we will have the best time exploring a new city and making the most of our time together!

I am loving the 70's trend. It reminds me of pouring over pictures of my mom during her college days. She had the most beautiful long red hair and just pulled over the 70's look so well. I was channeling my college aged fashionista mother when I put this outfit together. I love love love the scallop trim on this skirt, however...beware it does run short. Also be aware I am almost 5'8 so most things are short on me! This blouse is the perfect way to incorporate the 70's trend into your wardrobe, it is feminine with the bow and the colors are perfect for fall! This outfit will be so easy to wear with tights and boots as the temperatures keep dropping!

The warmer weather has been keeping me from fully embracing my full wardrobe. This weekend we will still have temperatures into the 80's! Where is October? I love the warmth but I am also anxious to wear all my new fall goodies. I have actually already purchased several things in this lookbook! I own a pair of moto black denim pants and absolutely love them, mine are from zara but I found this pair on sale for under $10!! I have also been super inspired by a pop of color in a red handbag. This one is a major save and looks like a mini Celine! I also just bought this navy blue biker jacket that I cannot wait to wear with my new floral beanie! A sweater coat is also a fall essential that I could not live without, this particular one is a great deal and will be so cozy going into winter as well! I love love love all of these pieces and hope you are all feeling inspired by these pieces....Did you see that those booties are at Target right now??? Obsessed!

First Taste of Fall

I wore this outfit last Saturday running errands with Dave. We had to run to Nordstrom to make some returns and it was the absolute PERFECT fall day. I got to pull out my wool hat and booties...with plaid...and a pumpkin spice latte, I was in HEAVEN! I don't think a pumpkin spice latte that often but it just so perfect for the fall that I just had to...it's like my peppermint mocha (Christmas in a cup) during the holiday season!

 I am so excited for this weekend!! My sister and her family are coming to Wisconsin and we are meeting at my parents house to do our annual apple orchard weekend. Follow along on snapchat; cait christy. My nieces are the most adorable things on this planet...I swear!

HAPPY SEPTEMBER!!

This dress is one of my favorite articles of clothing I have ever owned. My mind often drifts off to potential outfits and sometimes I REALLY fall in love with my ideas. I love this entire outfit from head to toe and loved putting it together. This is a complete outfit to me because it has so many components...so much personality. Just like me!

P.S: This dress is going to be on repeat going into fall with opaque black tights.

I have been absolutely swooning over so many of the fall collections out there right now. I am particularly obsessed with everything H&M has put out there. Cozy sweaters, drapey fabrics and so many pieces for layering!! I picked up this dress in stores yesterday and cant wait to wear it with tights and OTK boots!

This blanket scarf is going to be HUGE this fall I just know it, so grab it now because these always sell out.

I love to have an array of comfy dresses in my closet. That go-to comfy thing you can always throw on... I love this dress from +Forever 21 because it is such a great basic to build an outfit upon. I threw on this vest for some texture and this fun necklace to complete the look. This dress actually comes in FOUR colors I just realized....I am definitely going to order the gray because when its $10.90...why not?

I love love love this top, it's super cute to just throw on with jeans and booties for now but with wedges or sandals for spring! The lighting in some of these pictures is not that great, so I apologize but the actual coloring of the top is like an army green with peachy detail on the pockets. Super adorable. Usually I would just retake the photos with better lighting but with -12 degree weather....I can't muster up the courage to go out there again! I started this blog when the weather was just starting to get cold, it will be so strange to take my photos when the air isn't literally assaulting me! Hurry up spring!

Whenever I don't know what to wear I immediately grab one of my favorite tees. I feel that a simple tee shirt can be the beginning of a great outfit and often inspiration floods in once you put one on. Once you have a tee on you can throw on any number of things, fun pants, a comfy sweater, all sorts of jewelry...then, just like that you have gone from having nothing to wear to having a complete outfit ready! These tops from J.Crew are definitely my staple AND did I mention $9.99 today? I own them in almost every color!
