I've struggled with how to wear these cute scarves for a couple seasons now. I always felt like I looked too much like a flight attendant! My cousin Emma wore hers with a sweater like this one and I felt totally inspired! I am IN LOVE with the colors in this striped silk bandana and love how it pops against the mustard yellow. Mustard is such a fall color to me...It's bright and cheery and just so festive. I have linked several sweaters below that I just adore.

I went to visit my parents in Wisconsin last weekend and couldn't resist to stop in their downtown area to take pictures by the gorgeous trees. The leaves change so much sooner there than they do in Chicago...it's crazy! It was one of the first nice fall days we have had so far and I couldn't wait to wear this scarf/cape. Its so cozy and is the perfect thing to wear with leggings! I am also obsessed with hair bow right now...maybe I am taking style notes from my daughter now?

Good Morning!! I couldn't wait to let you know that one of my favorite tops is 40% off today...$27!! I love it because its so easy to wear as a breast feeding mama, but is so stylish! I am obsessed with the sleeves and the flattering tie around the waist. Overall 10/10 for this top! It also comes in a really pretty fall floral that I also LOVE!!

5 Lipstick Shades for fall

I love fall because it's the time of year when I can pull out my favorite lipstick shades. The dark berry colors and fall neutrals that complement so many skin tones and can make a huge statement. 

Here are my five favorites in no particular order.

1.  Craving - This color is great for everyday wear. I go through this tube the most just because it can be worn with anything!

2.  D for Danger- This is what I am wearing in my pictures, the tube looks darker than it is in my opinion. It's a perfect berry hue for fall!

3.  Sin- This is a super dark berry color that I love for date night!

4.  Lily Lake - Fall plaids, and leopard prints, just about everything looks good with this color and it's easier on your bank account too!

5.  Capricious- This is another everyday favorite of mine, its a perfect neutral for everyday and looks so great with big cozy sweaters in oatmeal, ivory and gray!

White Cozy Tunic

UGH. I love this cozy white tunic sweater/sweatshirt....its a heavy knit fabric that is soooo comfy and warm. It comes in so many colors. I tucked mine in the front a bit but it is actually quite long and you can wear it with leggings!!! I also noticed that I have not shared these jeans with you before and they are a new favorite of mine. They are a great color and I love the frayed hem...plus they are under $70!!!

Fall Transition Layers

Happy first day of fall!!!

I cannot believe I am even writing those words as it is currently 89 degrees in Chicago and feels like 93!!! People are on the beach in September!

Its the unpredicable fall weather that makes layers and fall colors so important this time of the year. I love finding neutrals and fall berry colors that I can layer and lighten up with a white camisole. This white cami is absolutely the cutest thing ever and is finally back in stock in a couple of size. It goes so fast so RUN! 

My skirt is from the tall section at ASOS which I absolutely adore. I love mini skirt, but I am also tall so I usually cannot wear them from the regular section at stores. ASOS has so many of their cute styles also offered in tall which is just music to my ears!!!

This kimono is absolutely a fall essential. It has burnout velvet flowers which is ultra luxurious and looks so great draped over a tank with jeans, a skirt or even over your favorite solid dress with some over the knee boots!!

Weekend Wishlist

I have been traveling nonstop since the last weekend in August, I am so excited to have a relaxing weekend at home with absolutely NO travel or timeline!! I have a never ending list of things to do however, including unpacking suitcases from the last several weekends,  starting 10 (not kidding) loads of laundry, organize my room, creating my halloween costume (follow along on snapchat; cait christy) and cleaning our apartment!! I plan to kick of the weekend doing absolutely none of those things...instead I have bought a face mask, this nail color and plan to watch (and quote) every line of Pride and Prejudice (My absolute favorite movie).

 This is a list of some things I have been craving lately! I purchased this floral romper last night and cannot wait to wear it with black boots and tights! It is so on board with Dolce & Gabanas collection right now except this one is only $25. Holla! I have also been on the look out for a new fall-esqe eye shadow pallet. My bestie Lauren just got a cute eyeshadow pallet from MAC and I was super impressed with the pigment these shadows have. I think this pallet looks perfect for this season!

I have also been seeing this sheer lacy look like this peplum top everywhere. I think it would be so perfect for date night with a black cami underneath, deep lipstick and some killer statement earrings like these.

Essential Fall Items

There are a couple of fall staples that I could not live without. One being the infamous blanket scarf. I've linked up a ton at the bottom of this post for you to shop! I love this paticular blanket scarf because it's colors are so classic. This top is another staple that everyon should have in their fall wardrobe. Its a longer top so with jeans I tuck it slightly in the front, but this can also be worn long with a fur vest or a cozy sweater. It comes in several colors and is a top you will reach for on a regular basis. Olive is a huge color for fall so I personally love this color but the others are worth checking out as well! These super skinny jeans have been a favorite of mine for get this...6 years. They are so comfy, but the fit of them also makes them perfect for wearing with heels for a night out. It is so crucial to have jeans that are not baggy by your ankles if you are going to wear a heel! My sister used to work for Levi in San Francisco, from what she tells me it was an amazing company to work for. She got me these jeans when she worked there and they are still my favorite today, they have not faded throughout contant wear which is something I cannot even say about $200 jeans I own. Whatever you are doing Levi's...keep doing it.

First Taste of Fall

I wore this outfit last Saturday running errands with Dave. We had to run to Nordstrom to make some returns and it was the absolute PERFECT fall day. I got to pull out my wool hat and booties...with plaid...and a pumpkin spice latte, I was in HEAVEN! I don't think a pumpkin spice latte that often but it just so perfect for the fall that I just had to...it's like my peppermint mocha (Christmas in a cup) during the holiday season!

 I am so excited for this weekend!! My sister and her family are coming to Wisconsin and we are meeting at my parents house to do our annual apple orchard weekend. Follow along on snapchat; cait christy. My nieces are the most adorable things on this planet...I swear!

Fall = Plaid

Dress // Boots // Lipcolor: Lush Life // Necklace

When I think of fall fashion, I think of plaid almost immediately. Plaid = Fall...Fall = Plaid. I was switching my closet over from summer to fall this weekend and must have pulled 20 plaid shirts out of storage!! I love this print and all the different combos it comes in! I fell in love with this plaid dress instantly...I love the colors and I love how I can wear it with boots now, and layer it more with tights and a big sweater as it gets colder! P.S : This is a great lipstick color for fall!
