I have never neglected the blog so long in my life. I am so happy to be back and so sorry for my absence. The holidays are my absolute favorite time of the year, I was completely unplugged from my devices and just spent so much quality time with my family. It was so wonderful and much needed. My family keeps growing, so the house around the holidays is a full one. The silence that occurs once everyone leaves is the saddest silence I know. Dave thinks I get slightly depressed on the day I realize Christmas really is over. It's probably a little true, the days just fly by!! I need a month of christmas I swear!!

Happy Friday everyone, I hope you all had a great week and didn't have too much trouble adjusting back to the work life. I know Monday was ROUGH for me. I am heading to a hockey game in Madison tonight to watch my cousin play and to see some good college friends. On saturday Dave and I will be heading to Chicago to the Opera! With Dave living in DC we have not had many opportunities to attend the opera anymore. Now that he is home for a month from school we are making sure to do our favorite things in Chicago!

I love the scallop trim on this dress, its the perfect black shift dress with a little bit of character. I just purchased this skirt that also has the scalloped trim and cannot wait to wear it! I also had this outfit on orginally with these leopard print heels but spilled triple sec all over them in a trip from my car to my apartment so they I am photographed in my favorite steve madden wedge!

I've been wearing these jeans like crazy because they are so cute! I packed a couple pairs for my Arizona trip but kept pulling these ones out. They are definitely a good pair to have for the spring/summer because they are high waisted and look great with crop tops! I fell in love with this tank from Nordstrom last year and decided I had to add it to my closet this year because it is now comes in baby blue which is one of my favorite colors to wear. It is a hot item and it sold out last year before I got one so now here is your chance to grab it before it's gone! It also comes in two other colors I personally love the bright pink/coral one too!

I love love love this top, it's super cute to just throw on with jeans and booties for now but with wedges or sandals for spring! The lighting in some of these pictures is not that great, so I apologize but the actual coloring of the top is like an army green with peachy detail on the pockets. Super adorable. Usually I would just retake the photos with better lighting but with -12 degree weather....I can't muster up the courage to go out there again! I started this blog when the weather was just starting to get cold, it will be so strange to take my photos when the air isn't literally assaulting me! Hurry up spring!

I'm in pink and stripes again today! Shocker! I love this top from Mainstream Boutique and think that the pocket detail is the cutest. The top is really long so you could also wear it with leggings which will be super cute! You can order right from their Facebook page if you want this top too!
 I am also in love these new jeans I picked up. I wanted a pair that wasn't too ripped up but still on trend with the distressed look. I always love the way Paige denim fits me! My tote is also from Mainstream Boutique and they have so many cute cute colors, and its reversible!

This is hands down the softest sweater I have ever owned. I never want to take it off! Also these J.Crew black jeans are crazy on sale right now, they run big so if you are going to purchase them size down. I am wearing a 26. They are so comfy and such a good price! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, for me it just flew by. I feel like I could always use just one more day with my family during the holidays. Christmas has changed so much in my house in the past two years with the addition of my two little nieces. Seeing the magic of Christmas through the eyes of children is amazing, their excitement over everything is so refreshing and a great reminder of how much joy there is to be found in life!

Onto my outfit…Every once in a while I become obsessed with a certain trend and can’t seem to get enough of it. Right now i’m loving midi skirts because you can dress them down or dress them up in so many different ways. I would rather wear a dress or a skirt every single day, I think they are more comfortable but I love how feminine the look is. When I saw this skirt from Piperlime I knew its rightful place was in my closet paired with some pink heels. This would be a great skirt for NYE also! Thanks for stopping by!
