December Favorites

Its almost the end of December and almost the end of 2014, can you believe it? I thought I would put together my December favorites for you. Included are a lot of hydrating producsts for the dry winter weather but also some of my favorite holiday products. Scroll all the way down to shop this post!

Gold Bond Softening Lotion: This is my absolute favorite lotion for this time of the year, my skin gets so dry and this is the only lotion that makes my skin softer immediately. I love it.

Case Mate Champagne Case: I love this case, it is such a statement piece and really protects my phone.

Ruby Woo Collection: This is the ultimate red lip trio. I think I have stated a few times that Ruby Woo is my favorite Red, this collection includes a liner, lipstick and a gloss.

Clinique Moisture Surge: This is one product that I could not live without. I hate the feel of greasy lotions on my face and this is the only moisturizer I have found that is super lightweight yet effective.

Aveda Smooth Infusion: This is a product I use every time that I do my hair (blow dry & curl) It is both a heat protection and smoother which is great for my naturally curly curly hair. I use the smallest amount and the bottle lasts forever.

Tory Burch Perfume: I got a sample of this from Nordstrom in late November and was obsessed at the first spritz. It smells so wonderful, the only downside is that it fades after a couple of hours which is a bummer seeing as it is pretty expensive.

Neutrogena Micro-Mist Airbrush Tan: Its been such a mild winter so far that I have been able to wear several dresses and skirts without tights. That is great except for my legs haven't seen the sun in months which makes this sunless tanner a necessity for this Irish girl.

Burts Bees Soothing Lip balm: Oh my does this smell wonderful (if you like eucalyptus!) I kept this on me constantly this month.

Nars Laguna Bronzer: I would be lost with out this stuff, its definitely my favorite bronzer because it just adds a healthy glow.

Osis Refreshing Dust: So I basically never wash my hair...haha gross I know but I just don't have the time and its not good to wash your hair everyday. I use this on my last dirty hair day on the roots and it is crazy powerful. A more expensive product but so worth it!

Not Your Mothers Hair Texturizing spray: I use this to give my hair a little texture on dirty hair days, I just spray it in and then use my defuser! It smells amazing and is super cheap too!

Sequin Skirt & Graphic Tee

Skirt // Top // Bag (Similar here) // Heels // Earrings (on sale!) // Lip Color: Michiyo

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, for me it just flew by. I feel like I could always use just one more day with my family during the holidays. Christmas has changed so much in my house in the past two years with the addition of my two little nieces. Seeing the magic of Christmas through the eyes of children is amazing, their excitement over everything is so refreshing and a great reminder of how much joy there is to be found in life!

Onto my outfit…Every once in a while I become obsessed with a certain trend and can’t seem to get enough of it. Right now i’m loving midi skirts because you can dress them down or dress them up in so many different ways. I would rather wear a dress or a skirt every single day, I think they are more comfortable but I love how feminine the look is. When I saw this skirt from Piperlime I knew its rightful place was in my closet paired with some pink heels. This would be a great skirt for NYE also! Thanks for stopping by!

Gluhwein : German Mulled Wine Recipe for Christmas Eve

Its Christmas Eve. I am finally with my entire family and everything is absolutely perfect, we don't have snow but thats okay! I have the perfect festive cocktail to keep you and yours warm and happy this Christmas! :) I got this recipe from CHOW.com and will link the recipe below. It's DELICIOUS!

Recipe link here; Gluhwein

Ingredients;

  • 2 medium lemons
  • 2 medium oranges
  • 10 whole cloves
  • 5 cardamom pods
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 2 (3-inch) cinnamon sticks
  • 2 (750-milliliter) bottles dry red wine, such as Cabernet Sauvignon or Beaujolais Nouveau
  • 1/2 cup brandy
  • Cheesecloth
  • Butcher’s twine

  1. Instructions;
  2. 1. Using a vegetable peeler, remove the zest from the lemons and oranges in wide strips, avoiding the white pith; place the zest in a large saucepan. Juice the lemons and oranges and add the juice to the pan.
  3. 2. Place the cloves and cardamom in a small piece of cheesecloth, tie it tightly with butcher’s twine, and add the bundle to the saucepan.
  4. 3. Add the sugar, water, and cinnamon sticks, place the pan over high heat, and bring to a simmer, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Reduce the heat to low and continue to simmer, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is reduced by about one-third, about 20 minutes.
  5. 4. Add the red wine and brandy, stir to combine, and bring just to a simmer (don’t let it boil). Remove from the heat and remove and discard the spice bundle before serving.

    Last Minute Gift Ideas

                 Happy Monday everyone! It's so close to Christmas and I can't even wait! Did any of you attempt to do Christmas Shopping this weekend? I spent the weekend with my boyfriends family in the Chicago Suburbs and when we ventured out to buy some last minute gifts at the mall we were absolutely in disbelief at the amount of people out, it was chaos! I am not a last minute person and have had most of my gifts for weeks and I think that is so I can avoid that chaos...yikes. Online shopping is also a godsend during the holidays. If you still need a gifts this christmas I have put to gather a list of things that should be pretty easy to pick up!

    Heres the list;

    •  Nail Polish (Holiday Sets are always available this time of the year)
    • Cute gloves and a scarf can be found in so many places, fuzzy socks too!
    • Subscription to a Healthy Snack Box
    • Bath and Body Works candles or soaps (I personally am loving the citrus wreath scent for soap)
    • A good book, I loved Gone Girl
    • A bottle of wine and Holiday Arrangement of flowers
    • For the coffee lover; A Keurig, cute mug or a starbucks gift card are great ideas
    • You can never go wrong with a gift card to a spa!
    Anyone else have any good ideas for last minute gifts, please share!

    Cozy Concept

    Dress (40% off!) // Tights //Scarf: Mainstream Boutique (similar here) //  Handbag // Boots // Watch // Lip Color: Hot Passion

    I'm always looking for stylish ways to stay comfortable, so when I saw this dress at LOFT I knew I had to have it. It has super cute herringbone detailing down the middle and on the arms which I love! The weather has been so foggy, rainy, cold and gross which is not so good, but what is good is that I have been living in my yellow Hunter Boots which makes me so cheerful.
    Yellow is such a happy color, isn't it?!! You know what else will make you happy...the fact that so many hunter boots are on sale! The redish (bright coral) glossy pair I've been wanting included!!!

    It's almost friday. YAY!

    Happy Friday Everyone!

    One thing I love about dressing for the holidays is that sequins, sparkles and embellishments are always acceptable. I have been really into hair accessories lately, there are so many beautiful jeweled headbands and hair clips out there right now that can add even more sparkle to my holiday outfits. I love this one i'm wearing from Francescas but also saw so many at Nordstrom and LOFT.
