Primary Color Accents

Sweater (less than $40!!) // Lipstick: Mattely in Love // Denim: Zara // Flats // Handbag: Chanel

I love love love mixing primary colors for accents. I am also drawn towards pairing a red lip with a yellow sweater or in this case these amazing jeweled flats! Do you have color combos that you are driven towards? I paired these bright colors with a super blank canvas of black and white. The sleeves on this sweater are so fun and add some fashion to an otherwise basic sweater.
I am also so in love with this new drug store lipstick find! It is such a bright fun shade for the upcoming holiday season.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Black Bow Back Dress // Cozy Quarter Zip // Red Sweater // Poncho // Striped Top // Beanie // Striped Top // Sock Booties // OTK Boots

I apologize for the untidy-ness of this post, my laptop charger broke so I have been using Daves computer which I am just not used to! I did however want to share some of my current favorite pieces with you! These would all make such amazing gifts for the holidays too!
Starting with this black bow back dress, black is such an easy color to wear anytime of the year but the bow on the back of this dress makes it so perfect for the holiday season. I would love it paired with the black sock bootie which is one of the seasons hottest trends!
I also love a pop of red this time of year and am OBSESSED with the sleeves on this otherwise basic sweater.
My favorite items on this post are the poncho that can be layered over your favorite basic long sleeve tee! How cozy would this outfit be for holiday travels or just hanging out with the family?

Bold & Bright

Coat (mine is super old but here is another similar) // Scarf // Denim // Cardigan // Striped Top // Shoes (similar here & here) // Handbag // Lipstick; Le Fuschsia

The fog has been relentless in Milwaukee for the past week. I had to throw on some bight colors to try to break away from the gloominess! I love this kelly green cardigan for spring transition and even into the summer. I love kelly green with navy and cannot wait to pair this with a navy and white striped skirt or dress! This striped top one of my new favorite items. I love the contrasting stripe ruffle trim down the front, its perfect for work or play!
I have a short work week this week as I am taking off Friday to head to Minneapolis to pick up my Wedding Dress! It was not supposed to be ready until March but it is here early and I cannot even wait to try it on again!

Exciting News!

Skirt // Top // Lipstick: All Fire Up //

AH! Dave and I are engaged!
It has been three weeks since it happened and I have just been on Cloud 9 ever since. I still find myself looking down at my ring to remind myself that this is really really finally happening! I cannot wait to marry this wonderful wonderful man!
The night was perfect in literally every single way, Dave created a magical night that I will  remember for the rest of my life. It started with me getting off the train in Chicago where I was meeting Dave for the weekend. I had to hurry (like 30 minutes hurry) to get ready to go out to dinner because we had to be at the marina by 8.... granted this is at 5pm. I told Dave we did not have to eat at 5:30 to be somewhere by 8 but he was fidgety and insistent so I dropped it. He told me he bought a booze cruise off Groupon and I totally believed him.
We went to dinner at one of our favorite Sushi Restaurants and just had the best dinner talking and laughing. When we finished dinner by 6:30 (ehemm...I knew 5:30 was too early..remember?!) so we decided to just walk around the city and stop at The River Roast for a glass of prosecco to buy some time. We finished our bubbly and hopped in a cab to the Marina. When we arrived I looked around at the boats and they were nothing but private yachts and sailboats...I was so confused. Where was our Booze Cruise? I saw one large boat with christmas lights dangly from nearly every service..it looked a little dingy but I figured that was the only possible "Booze Cruise" boat in this marina. I asked Dave if we were getting on "that boat" and he said "uhm, No Cait" and steered me past several piers before reaching the one he was looking for. He typed in a code to access the peir and at this point I am just seven shades of confused. We get to the most beautiful boat..scratch that... yacht I have ever seen in  my life. We were greeted by Judge our captain for the evening. He and his wife showed us around the yacht and put our champagne down in the fridge to chill. The captain played along with Daves story and told me the other couples cancelled..that we were in luck, it would just be the two of us.
At this point I began to get suspicious but also really did not believe a proposal was coming this summer and I would not put it past Dave to plan the most romantic amazing date for absolutely no reason. We took off from the Marina and cruised around watching the sun set over Chicago. We then headed to Buckingham Fountain and dropped anchor. This is where Dave and I crawled to the top of the boat an continued to watch the sunset and drink our amazing sparkling rose!
Things get a little fuzzy from here because I was so excited happy thrilled I think I momentarily forgot to breathe.... Dave asked me to stand up and when I did he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! I don't think I have ever experienced such crazy happiness in my life.
I'm one lucky girl and am so excited to spend the rest of my life with the person who truly makes me the best version of myself.

Spring Stripes

Ruffle Top // Striped Skirt // Tassel Crossbody Bag // Nude Flats // Leopard Belt //  Lipstick; Pink Nouveau // Cateye Sunglasses // Gold Watch

I had the best weekend in DC with Dave. The weather in Wisconsin has been less than ideal so I warmly welcomed the 80 degrees with 90% humidity. We walked around the Jeffereson Memorial and Tidal Basin area to see the beautiful Cherry Blossoms. I am so glad we went when we did because I feel like the petals were already starting to fall so much!
Dave had a lot of studying to do this weekend, but even simply sitting together is comforting! I guess that is what you get used to in a long distance relationship!
I use my time to plan our trip to Europe, I've researched the best restaurants and shopped for some cute outfits!

Stripes + Pom Pom's

Top (24% off with shopmore!)// Necklace; J.Crew Factory sold out (similar here) // Denim similar and on sale! Exact pair here // Shoes (similar) // Handbag; Old Navy (LOVE this one) // Lipstick; Hot

I love pops of red in an outfit, its such a bold color and makes such a statement. I think it instantly elevates your outfit. Red Lipstick is also a favorite of mine, it is my favorite to wear and this bight red is my drug store favorite and a staple in my collection.
I love the pom pom details on this striped top, I love how they really stand out against my new white jeans. I have been IN LOVE with Levi's lately, they fit me so great! I love how only one knee is distressed on this pair.

I wore this top around while running errands this weekend and I cannot tell you how many compliments I got! I was shocked because it is really just an upgraded tee, the perfect weekend wear and would also be perfect for a casual date night! Add a bright lip for a spring touch!
